Time Tested Beauty Tips
For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you’ll never walk alone. We leave you a tradition with a future. The tender loving care of human beings will never become obsolete. People even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed, and redeemed, and redeemed. Never throw out anybody. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you’ll find one at the end of your arm. As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself, the other for helping others. Your “good old days” are still ahead of you, may you have many of them.

Audrey Hepburn is my inspiration and icon, so you will often see posts about her on this blog. I thought I would start with one of her favorite poems that I have also come to love. Audrey was not only one of the most beautiful women who ever lived, she was also known for being one the kindest and most self-sacrificing.
The author of this poem, Sam Levenson wrote it in a letter to his granddaughter when she was born. Audrey took selections from it and titled it “Time Tested Beauty Tips.”
In “Audrey Hepburn, An Elegant Spirit,” a book written by Audrey’s son Sean, he remembers how his “mummy” loved this poem. Just weeks before she died, she read it to her family on their last Christmas Eve together. Sean even recited it at her funeral service.
If you have not read much on Audrey Hepburn, I highly recommend this book. I dare you to attempt reading it through without a tear in your eye!
